When we started Diremo, we started by solving a simple problem: people that had crypto couldn't discover real products to buy with it.
Previously, there were truly only two ways to spend crypto: trade it as an investment, or buy NFTs as digital collectibles.
Our founding team, Vincenzo, Daniel, and I, grew up with crypto. We've never known a world without it. And so, the obvious third use-case came to light: buying real stuff with crypto and truly using it as a currency.
So, we built the simplest solution we could think of: a platform where crypto holders could discover products sold with crypto from across the web and from shops joining the platform natively.
The result was so much better than we predicted: tens of thousands of products from hundreds of shops came onboard, with brands with millions in annual crypto payments committing to using us exclusively.
All throughout the process, we never spent a single dollar on marketing or sales, and continued to stay in a soft-launch period as shoppers came to the platform daily. We became — and will continue to be — the largest crypto marketplace for real products.
In past several months, we've been internally discussing our vision for where we want to take this platform. We've spoken to hundreds of shoppers and sellers, and experienced veterans in crypto and commerce alike.
What we've realized is beautifully simple: the potential for web3 to enhance and disrupt shopping as we know it is limitless. Bringing brands to web3 isn't the solution; building new shopping experiences for brands that are powered by web3 is.

We believe that web3, this third generation of the web, will power an entirely new way to buy: one that's more open, social, and connected. Thirdbuy is committed to bringing these new shopping experiences to brands, shops, and marketplaces.
For brands with their own existing sites, we'll begin supporting them through our new direct integration: Thirdbuy Connect, which looks just like any other payment processor. Meanwhile, we'll continue to grow our marketplace, allowing buyers to directly discover products sold with these new web3-powered experiences.
What This Future Looks Like
First — gifts, rewards, & loyalty
To start, we're launching a new way to shop: one where you can frictionlessly collect rewards, get discounts, and send gifts.
Gifting is one of the features we're most excited about. Want to send new shoes to a friend as a holiday gift, but worried you'll get the wrong size, or want to ship it straight to their door not yours? With Thirdbuy, simply buy the product as an NFT, send it to the recipient, and they can redeem it.
Rewards & Loyalty Programs
We can now represent loyalty points with tokens, and rewards and loyalty cards with NFTs. With web3, buyers and send and share rewards with friends simply by sending their NFTs. Web3 brings interoperability too because decentralized ownership is universal — now, shops can offer rewards on other platforms with an integration, using the same on-chain account.
Next — communities & sharing
After that, we're building features for a new world where buyers and brands are more connected than ever.
Brands are uniquely positioned to create communities around what shoppers love. It's hard for brands to connect with buyers with many channels to manage — social accounts, websites, newsletters, and marketplaces. Tokenization has magical way of creating and sustaining community. With tokenization of loyalty, brands can create tokengated communities, and integrate rewards and gifts directly too.
Buyers love sharing what they own. With every product bought as an NFT, ownership of a physical product is now represented digitally. Suddenly, anyone can prove they own something, and show it off to friends. We're starting with a simple implementation of this: a profile where anyone can showcase what they own.
Finally — global, open commerce and new ways to own with tokenization
Thirdbuy and decentralized commerce will foster more innovation, lower barriers to entry, and improved accessibility in global commerce than ever before.
Tokenizing products, rewards, and loyalty brings limitless new use-cases, business models, and innovations to commerce — far, far more than the ones we'll be starting with.
And building on a decentralized web means we're open to and excited for other builders to create these use-cases on top of what we've built. We're already forging partnerships with other builders innovating commerce with web3, and will continue to partner with more builders in this space moving forward.
Ultimately, we'll simply be providing a new layer of technology onto commerce for shops and other builders to use — a layer where shopping is open to all, native to the web, and more digitally connected than every before.
With this renewed vision, we'll be moving full-speed ahead to build and launch these new features. We'll be launching a new version of the marketplace in the next few weeks, and we're already bringing on new shops for our new integrations product.
